What DJ Sona Ultimate Remix is

Riot revealed the skin on X on November 3, 2026:

When she drops the beat, the whole world takes notice. The Mythic Variant DJ Sona Ultimate Remix is available on Patch 26.23.

Its in-game description reads:

An otherworldly talent that moves between genres with ease, Sona mesmerizes anyone lucky enough to catch one of her shows. This "silent virtuoso" is a master of mixing across genres and making the impossible happen, always getting the crowd moving. Sona's never needed words to make herself heard. Her music says it all.

Mythic Variants are alternate versions of existing skins that you can only get in the Sanctum. Every earlier one has the features of a Legendary skin, and DJ Sona Ultimate Remix is the first with the features of an Ultimate skin. It is Sona's second new skin of 2026, after Prestige Requiem Sona in March.

The three forms

Form Look
HEARTSTEEL (default splash) A black top and a yellow hoodie. Red and yellow train tracks rise from her headset.
True Damage Short hair and a silver jacket with neon blue lining. A blue and black synthesizer rises from her headset.
K/DA A red and black FIRESTARTER-style outfit with silver accents. Red and purple waves rise from her headset.

Each form has its own recall and ability effects. There is no Pentakill form, even though Sona plays in Pentakill.

What is new and what is reused

Riot's PBE thread lists custom models and textures, custom VFX, custom SFX and a custom recall. It lists no new voice lines or animations, and PBE players report that the skin reuses the voice lines, taunt and dance of the 2015 skin.

Riot has not shown how you switch forms on the new skin. On the original DJ Sona, you switch by typing /toggle or pressing Ctrl+5.

How to get DJ Sona Ultimate Remix

You can only get DJ Sona Ultimate Remix from the Sanctum. It has no RP price, it is not in the Mythic Shop, and it does not drop from Hextech chests.

  1. Buy Ancient Sparks with RP. They cost 400 RP each, and unused Sparks stay in your inventory.
  2. Open the Loot tab and go to the Sanctum once patch 26.23 is live on November 18, 2026.
  3. Pick the Mythic Variant banner with DJ Sona Ultimate Remix and spend one Spark per pull.
  4. Keep pulling until the skin drops. The 40th pull without a Mythic Variant always gives one.

Riot lists these drop rates for Mythic Variant banners:

Tier Contents Drop rate
S Mythic Variants and 100 Mythic Essence 0.5%, guaranteed by the 40th pull
A Selective skins, exclusive accessories and more 10%, guaranteed by the 10th pull
B Mythic Essence, random icons, random emotes 89.5%

If you already own everything in a tier, you get Mythic Essence instead of a duplicate. Our Mythic Essence guide lists what it buys.

Your guarantee counter carries over

Progress toward a Mythic Variant carries over to the next Mythic Variant banner, and drawing any Mythic Variant resets it to zero. Exalted pulls never count.

So if you pulled on K/DA Hitmaker Evelynn or K/DA FIRESTARTER Ignition Akali in patch 26.22 without drawing either, those pulls count toward DJ Sona Ultimate Remix. If you drew one of them, you start from zero. Enter your pulls in our Sanctum pity calculator to see what DJ Sona costs from your counter.

Do you need the original DJ Sona?

Riot has not said. It did not require the base skin for the first Mythic Variant, Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin, and the wiki lists DJ Sona Ultimate Remix as a separate skin. DJ Sona itself stays on sale for 3,250 RP.

How much DJ Sona Ultimate Remix costs

The skin costs between 400 RP and 16,000 RP. This table shows your chance of having it after each number of pulls, from a counter at zero.

Pulls RP spent Chance you have the skin
1 400 0.5%
10 4,000 4.9%
20 8,000 9.5%
30 12,000 14.0%
39 15,600 17.8%
40 16,000 100%

About 82% of players who pull until they get the skin reach the 40th pull, so budget the full 16,000 RP. The average is 36.3 pulls, or about 14,534 RP. Our Sanctum pity calculator works it out from your own counter.

In dollars, euros and other currencies

RP only comes in fixed bundles. In every region with the standard bundles, the cheapest way to 16,000 RP is one 13,500 RP bundle, one 1,380 RP bundle and two 575 RP bundles, which gives you 16,030 RP. Our RP calculator does this for 19 price lists and subtracts RP you already have.

Region 16,000 RP costs
North America, Southeast Asia and Taiwan $120.96
EU West, EU Nordic & East and Middle East €120.96
United Kingdom £108.24
Latin America, countries that pay in US dollars $102.74
Brazil R$459.60
Mexico MX$2,250
Turkey ₺3,750
Australia A$181.46
Japan ¥16,220, as one 15,000 RP and two 525 RP bundles

That is about 4.9 times the 3,250 RP of the original DJ Sona. Exalted skins guarantee at 80 pulls and cost up to 32,000 RP, as our Arcane Fractured Jinx guide explains. Unused Ancient Sparks can be refunded within 14 days with a Refund Token, but anything you draw cannot.

Who made the music: underscores

The producer underscores made the music for DJ Sona Ultimate Remix. Brandon Zongora, a music designer at Riot, credited her on X on November 3, 2026:

Was the pleasure of a lifetime to do the music design for MV DJ Sona - hope you all love it as much as I do Shout out to @underscoresplus for their amazing work on the music 🔥 PS - longtime original DJ Sona fans, look out for some much needed updates to her original kit 😌👊🏼

underscores is the project of April Harper Grey, a producer and songwriter from San Francisco, known for the albums fishmonger (2021), Wallsocket (2023) and U (2026). Riot has not published a tracklist, and the new music is not on Spotify or YouTube yet.

Personal note: I saw underscores live in Berlin the day after Riot announced her for this. Great show, great pick.

What the new music sounds like

From PBE recordings, each form plays the same base song with its own tempo and band sounds, a bit like Teamfight Tactics changing its music with your board. The tracks change again once Sona is above level 16. None of the bands' own songs, such as FIRESTARTER, GIRLS, GIANTS or Know My Name, are in the preview, even though DJ Sona features on "GIRLS" from K/DA's FIRESTARTER EP (October 21, 2026). Some PBE players find the loops too short, and HEARTSTEEL gets the most love.

Who made the music of the original DJ Sona

The 2015 skin has one track per form, released as the DJ Sona EP and still on Spotify.

Form Track Artists
Kinetic Kinetic The Crystal Method and Dada Life
Concussive Concussive Bassnectar and Renholdër
Ethereal Ethereal Nosaj Thing and Pretty Lights

The original DJ Sona gets fixed in patch 26.23

The layered music of the original DJ Sona has been broken for years. Zongora confirmed on Reddit that patch 26.23 fixes it, and explained how it works:

Your QWE will unlock unique layers of music, death will remove them (you can get them back by using abilities again), using R will transition you to a new set of higher intensity music. This can happen 3 times in game, once for each level of your ultimate. Oh and the HUD mute button works again (hopefully for good this time)

If you own DJ Sona, you get the fix for free. Zongora only described this for the original skin, so we don't know yet whether the Ultimate Remix uses the same system.

How players reacted on the PBE

Riot's PBE feedback thread sat at a 47% upvote ratio on November 5, 2026. The top comments ask for new voice lines, new animations and interactions with the bands, and say the Q, W and E effects are one design in different colors. Others are tired of three K/DA-linked Mythic Variants in two patches. Some players defend it, arguing that gacha skins sell or Riot would stop making them. Particles and sound effects may still change before November 18.

How long DJ Sona Ultimate Remix stays in the Sanctum

Riot has not announced an end date. Mythic Variants are only available for a limited time and may return later, as Divine God-King Darius did in August 2026, but Riot does not guarantee it. Check the countdown on the banner in your client.

What Riot has not announced yet

  • When the banner closes, and its A-tier and B-tier items
  • Whether you need to own the original DJ Sona
  • How you switch forms, and whether teammates can mute the music
  • Which tracks underscores made, and whether they will be released
  • The splash artist and the emote
